How to develop an outline for an essay
12 Dec
More often than not, students find it difficult to create the outline for an essay. The first step in essay writing that you need to perform is that you can start by gathering all of your research information and articles, and sort the information into certain groupings, discarding any information that may not be beneficial. Your next step is to work through the thesis statement and unpack the topic into any logical groupings or themes. You would then select the information that is pertinent or could support any sub topic within the main thesis topic. Once you have covered all the major parts of the essay, start by creating a wireframe or mind map of what you want to get out of the topic. The next step is to add an introduction, structure the body, and create a conclusion section which can brings all relevant statements together. Once you have created the outline, only then can you sit down to perform actually writing the essay. But believe me, as I have written a number of essays in my time, by creating taht outline initially and putting some effort into planning the structure of the essay, it will reduce the amount of time to complete the essay by a magnitude of 10. Also, the flow of the essay will be a lot better if well planned and you begin with creating the outline.
